Kalki 2898 AD: A disastrated world where a God will take birth

When this world becomes full of sin, when the air becomes poisonous, and when the Ganga river becomes dry, then Lord Vishnu's 10th avatar will take birth in this world. Yes, of course, today I'm talking about Kalki 2898 AD. Nag Ashwin directed this film and the cast is Prabhas (Bhairava), Deepika Padukone (SUM 80), Amitabh Bachchan (Ashwatthama), Kamal Hassan (Supreme Yaskin), Saswata Chatterjee (Commander Manas), Disha Patani (Roxie), Dulquer Salmaan (Captain), Mrunal Thakur (Divya), Anna Ben (Kyra) etc. So many cameos in this film and they played important roles. This movie's budget is 600 Crores INR. And the collection of this movie is near about 1000 Crores INR till now. This movie is mainly on the basis of Hindu mythology. The Mahabharata is the main base of this story, and the upcoming story about Lord Vishnu's 10th Avatar 'Kalki'. And Ashwatthama's duty is to protect the baby's mother from the demonic humans. Now let's move on to the storyline and review of this movie.

Krishna

The Story Line

At the very beginning of this movie, we'll see a scene after the Kurukshetra war. Ashwatthama throw his Brahmastra to Uttara's (Avimanyu's wife) abdomen to kill her baby. Thus, Krishna got angry and cursed Ashwatthama. He said him that Pandavas, people, Krishna himself would be dead, the yug would be end but he would still alive. And to end this sin, he will protect a mother at the time of Lord Vishnu's 10th avatar Kalki's birth. After saying this, Krishna took Ashwatthama's 'Mani' from his forehead. And he said that, when the time of his birth came, he would find his Mani and that's the sign.

Time flows, and we all come to the time of 2898 AD. 6000 years after the Mahabharata. In that world, only one city is left to live, Kashi. The air is very poisonous, no one have a drop of water to drink, The Ganga river becomes dry. And also there is a ban to other Gods, there is only one god and he is Supreme Yaskin, a 200 years old demonic human. There is a complex where everything is available. If anyone wants to go to the complex then he might pay 1 million units. In that environment, fertile women are very rare. But, Supreme Yaskin wants fertile women to conceive a baby to collect the serum from it. The project name was Project-K, where women need to be pregnant for at least 120 days, to collect that serum. Supreme Yaskin collects that serum to fight with his death and to become immortal in this world.

Bhairava

Here, we meet Bhairava (Prabhas), a fighter, who never lose in any fight. He has only one dream to go to the complex and live the best life. He has a super AI car name BUJJI. He is also a bounty hunter to take units to go to the complex. From his birth, he has no parents. A captain rescued his life, look after him, trained him. One day his captain was going to sell him but Bhairava sold his captain earlier. Thus, he becomes a very selfish man.

SUM 80

Now we meet SUM 80 (Deepika padukone), who is a infertile woman, works in the complex's lab of fertile pregnant mother's unit. Scientists use Supreme's formula for that project and all this things were managed by his two followers, Commander Manas and Counsellor Bani. Commander Manas is the leader of the army and Counsellor Bani is Supreme's Advisor, who also have the knowledge of Hindu Puran. SUM 80 works there but one day her one friend notices that SUM 80 is also pregnant for past 5 months. Later she informs about SUM 80, and scientists take her for the experiment. But That friend rescued her cause she is a member of the rebels who want to end Supreme's rule. These all rebels lived in Shambhala, a secret place in the Himalayas. They believe that Kalki's birth time is near who will protect the whole world.

The rebels rescued SUM 80 and take her to Shambhala. One rebel called Kyra, named her Sumati. in the way, some members of complex attacked on them and Kyra give her life. But then, Ashwatthama find Sumati and started protecting her. Ashwatthama found his Mani earlier from a girl and that was glowing. Bhairava also comes there to catch Sumati cause she becomes a bounty of 1 million units. Ashwatthama and Bhairava had a long fight and lastly Ashwatthama win. Then they went to Shambhala. On the other side Bhairava was caught by the soldiers. They seized Bhairava's units and banned him from the complex permanently. But then, commander Manas appoint him to find SUM 80 and take her to the complex, in return he will be allowed to the complex.

Bhairava started to upgrade his car BUJJI to beat Ashwatthama. He make fake friendship with one rebel to enter in the Shambala. There once again the fight between Bhairava and Ashwatthama begins. But now, Bhairava giving a tough fight with his car BUJJI which is transformed into a robot. But still, Bhairava was defeated by Ashwatthama and become unconscious. in this time, Commander Manas have entered in Shambhala and start a fight. The rebels give a tough fight but still lose. Then, Manas Attacked Ashwatthama and take SUM 80 with him.

Conclusion And Review

What happened next? Will SUM 80 die? Will Kalki born or Supreme kill him? If you are having so many questions like this, then you must visit your nearest cinema hall to watch this movie.

Personally, I shall give this movie 7.5/10. The background music score was so awesome, the way they present some little scenes of Mahabharata those were awesome. The characters of this movie are so stabilised except one character and that is Bhairava. In this whole movie, From entry to last scene, when Prabhas came, that scene became so boring and meaningless. He tried some jokes but that not suits on him. Maybe, there was no need of Prabhas in this movie except the last scene. But in other hand, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone played very crucial roles for this movie. This movie was fully created on a high class VFX. The world they showed us was totally mind blowing. Also they noticed very little points like Ashwatthama's height. As hindu mythology, previous yug's people were too tall than this yug's people. So they make Amitabh Bachchan's height around 8 ft.

Their wok on their story build up, character build up, make audience live in that world and involve them in the story of the movie are so beautiful. The plots of Mahabharata that they use was fully detailed. And the continuity of the story with the link of the Mahabharata is the subject to be praised. They showed us their detailed research about the Hindu mythology by this film. Some scenes will give goosebumps to the audience. Specially the Mahabharata scenes, scenes of Krishna, and Ashwatthama and specially the climax scene will make the audience to say Wow.

I suggest everyone to watch this movie in the cinema halls. But this is just an one time watchable movie cause the whole movie just have only one twist in it at the ending. So also I request to those people who have already watched this movie to do not tell anyone about the last scene otherwise he/she will lost their interest to watch this movie. But, those who love Hindu mythology very much, they will surely love this movie too. But of course, you need some basic knowledge of the Mahabharata before watching this movie otherwise you will not understand anything. At the end, I wanna say that, we need this type of movie. Some scenes might be correct but still this whole movie was so great. The visuals of future helps us to think about the future environment of this world. While watching the movie, some will think about not to take birth again in this world in that situation they showed us. So go ahead, get your tickets now and watch this movie.
